SEO as a system: topics, pages, links, and shipping cadence.
SEO playbook for software and AI product teams: topic maps, page types, internal links, technical hygiene, and weekly shipping—complementary to crawl suites.
What this playbook is (and is not)
This is an operating system for search demand: which pages to ship, how they connect, and how the team reviews quality. It is not a crawl-data product. Keep Ahrefs/Semrush-class tools for keywords and technical audits; use Growthloud to decide and execute the work.
When SEO is the primary channel
Strong when buyers research problems in search before they know your brand—comparisons, “how to”, category definitions, integrations. Weak as the only channel for a brand-new category with zero search volume; pair with social, community, or outbound until intent appears.
Core assets
- Topic map tied to the wedge (not a random keyword dump)
- Page types: hub, problem, comparison, integration, changelog-as-content
- Internal link rules from hubs to money pages (trial, pricing, product)
- Technical hygiene checklist: indexation, canonicals, speed, mobile
- Refresh cadence for decaying winners
Weekly cadence
- Monday: pick one URL job (new page, refresh, or internal-link fix).
- Ship draft → human claims review → publish.
- Log UTMs and search console signals.
- Friday: keep, iterate, or kill against written criteria.
Agent-ready steps
Inputs: wedge, competitor SERP notes, product facts, forbidden claims. Steps: topic outline → brief → draft → meta/title → internal links → schema where useful → human edit → publish checklist. Review gate: accuracy and differentiation—no spun “top 10 tools” spam.
Honest boundary
Growthloud does not guarantee rankings or replace crawl suites. For answer engines, pair this with the GEO playbook. For comparisons, see Growthloud vs SEO suites.
