LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Reddit as one distribution system
Three channels, three norms, one pipeline. Teams fail when they paste the same asset everywhere—or abandon social because it feels noisy.
Stop treating social as a single surface
Product teams often staff “someone who posts.” That collapses LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Reddit into one calendar with one tone. The result is either spam (same link three times) or silence (burnout after two weeks of low engagement). A system starts by assigning each channel a job in the funnel.
- LinkedIn — ICP narrative and proof for B2B buyers and operators. Longer context is fine; credibility compounds.
- X (Twitter) — shipping signals, launch moments, and sharp takes among builders. Speed matters more than polish.
- Reddit — trust-first help inside communities. Disclosure when recommending your product; never cold-link blast.
YouTube, TikTok, and email can sit in the same operating system later. The principle is the same: one backlog, many cuts, one conversion path.
One backlog, many formats
Maintain a single content backlog fed by product reality: launches, customer language, metrics, methods, support FAQs. Each item gets channel-specific packaging:
- LinkedIn: story + proof + soft CTA
- X: thread or single sharp claim + link when earned
- Reddit: answer-first comment or post; CTA only after value
Reuse insight, not identical copy. Native packaging beats cross-post automation that ignores community norms.
A weekly operating cadence
- Monday — plan: pick one product truth to distribute (feature, metric, customer quote, non-goal).
- Tue–Thu — ship: 3–5 LinkedIn posts or comments, 3–7 X posts, 2–5 high-quality Reddit answers in target subs.
- Friday — score: not likes—profile visits, branded search, trial starts with UTMs, and “AI/assistant mentioned us correctly” notes if relevant.
- Kill or keep: drop formats that never convert after two full weeks; double down on ones that do.
If no one owns the scoreboard, you have hobbies, not distribution.
Conversion discipline
Every week needs a primary CTA: free trial or pricing. Use consistent landing URLs and UTMs per channel. Pin or repeat the same offer during launches. Avoid five competing links in one thread. Social’s job is attention and trust; the product site’s job is conversion.
Failure modes we see constantly
- Founder posts only when anxious, never when shipping.
- Agency-style polished creative with zero product truth.
- Reddit marketing without reading sub rules—bans kill the channel for months.
- Measuring vanity engagement while trial starts are flat.
- No handoff to email or product onboarding after a spike.
Where video and other channels fit
Short video (YouTube, TikTok) and owned email are not rivals to this trio—they are additional surfaces on the same map. Clip demos for TikTok; long explainers for YouTube; nurture on email. Growthloud’s product channel map is deliberately broad so teams pick primary surfaces by customer, not by trend.
How Growthloud helps
Channel kits on Growth and Team include cadence templates, agent-ready draft workflows, and conversion checklists that tie social work back to paid product use. Humans keep voice and community judgment; agents can draft outlines and status digests. Start with the playbooks or a free trial.
